Today I wanna share with everyone something we do at my garage whenever we encounter an S E-Hybrid car of the previous generation with a hybrid battery failure (or a worn down battery)... Purchasing a brand new battery from Porsche is extremely expensive, and even if you buy a brand new battery from Porsche it still uses the original SAMSUNG 21Ah cells which are OUTDATED technology from 11 years ago.
We change the cells to 51Ah modern cutting edge CATL cells. Same size, same voltage range, much more capacity. We reuse the sampling boards, voltage sensing wires and temperature sensor from the original module, so in the eyes of the battery management system nothing has changed. So absolutely everything works exactly the same, except now you get 45Km E-RANGE.... Like the new models....
